Answer: Introduction: Communication is defined as the process of sharing meaning by different means of interaction and symbolic messages. Communication mainly involves two participants sender and a receiver. Business communication is extremely important in every industry. Communication with the internal stakeholders and external stakeholders ensures effective connection with its immediate stakeholders. In the retail industry communication stands to be very important due to the increase in competition in business. Naturally retail organisations do have number of departments within the organisation and hence it is important to implement an effective communication setup to continue with the good communication (Teece, 2010). One of the most common communication issues that are found in the retail industry is the choice of the right mode of communication to convey the messages. In the contemporary business electronic communication is mostly chosen to communicate nowadays. For conveying a message it is importan t that while addressing a group the email sent is approached in a professional style especially it is important to check and ensure everything right from the spellings, grammar and the construction style which will help to give the communication process a professional approach (Argenti, 2015). It is important to understand and implement the contemporary model of communication where which is an amalgamated form of the works of Schramm, Shannon and Weavers previous work on communication. This focuses on involving communicator, encoding, information, recipient, decoding and suggestions along with sounds. In the retail industry email communication is mostly availed and hence it is important to ensure that the communication used in the process is developed and implemented effectively for the smooth and hassle free communication. As per the contemporary model of communication email communication is not only used for internal people but also external environment especially to communicate with the consumers and hence it becomes important for the employees to understand the terms of official email writing. The first aspect of official email writing is it should be logical which will help the receiver understand the main motive of the mail. Another term key term is that the paragrap hs written should be logically related and should be able to convey the message (Guffey Loewy, 2010). The level of language needs to be professional and spellings and grammar should be highly professional. An email written to target audience will give the expected result only when it is effectively framed. Especially in retail industry it is important to constantly keep in touch with the consumers which are only possible with the help of effective business communication with the consumers. As per the Berlos SMCR model communication was seen from the psychological point of view. For the retail industry they should act to be an effective source which the consumers would love to communicate with and message which the company sends should be effective enough to interest consumers successfully (Guffey Loewy, 2010). The email should be able to convey the entire message to the consumers and it should be interesting for the receiver to respond to the organisation. To conclude it is important to mention that most of the consumers are highly focused on communicating with the retail companies which would help them to convey their messages to the companies effectively. In the retail companies feedback plays an important role and hence choosing the right media for communication is extremely important. Email is considered important by companies nowadays since it has a positive effect on developing the communication between the companies and the consumers. Hence it is important that written communication with the consumers should be well presented grammatically correct, properly proof read so that the right message could be sent to the consumers. Overall it could be said that written communication with the consumers is important and hence keeping in mind the terms and concepts of communication is essential (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010).
